Formed in 2006, the principal aim is to teach and encourage musicians young and old in the art of music making.

Cinderford Academy Band is made up of a small group of local upcoming musicians in the Forest of Dean area.
Under our new Musical Director Joey Prescott, the Academy Band is striving to entertain audiences with various musical styles. This includes various music from classic marches, to pop and contemporary arrangements.

The band is driven by their collaborative passion for creating music and having fun.
Please visit the bands website for more details at www.cinderfordbrassband.co.uk

The band provides free use of an instrument/free tuition and free membership.
The opportunities are there for players of all ages and abilities, we don’t mind. Young members will gain musical skills and knowledge combined with fun and support for their music exams. In support other senior band members are on hand to give one to one tuition for beginners. Older members that want o come for a blow are also welcomed.

From their first concert performance in 2006, under Clive Lewis the band has gained a reputation across the district with their concerts and now have a busy engagements program.
With successes at several contests, coming third, two years in a row at the Gwent Music Festival and more recently gaining Silver Medals at the Soundsport Music Events at Lydney and Basildon, Essex it is a great band to join focussing on fun.
