WELCOME TO OUR NEW FUNDRAISING PAGE!

Fundraing Committee with the band's President Mr Clive. Bevan

Members of the Fundraising group!

Like many band's across the country the Cinderford Band is a self funding organisation. The Band works extremely hard throughout the year, and is presently a self-financed organisation, income being generated from concerts, fund-raising events, subscription fees and donations. This is used to cover a variety of costs such as buying instruments and music, hiring rehearsal facilities, insurance and contest entry fees. Christmas carolling is also an important part of the Cinderford Band's duties, not only to give the local community a chance to hear the band and to get in the Christmas spirit, but it also a good time for fundraising too.

The band's playing members are all amateur musicians playing brass instruments ranging from cornets to trombones, as well as a full complement of percussion instruments. Some of the Band members act as (voluntary) officials on an executive committee, meeting regularly to oversee the general management of the Band. All money is managed by our Treasurer who reports to the General Committee on a regular basis. The money collected from our work enables us to buy instruments, music and equipment, which are essential to our continued expansion and development.

The band does not just rely on funding from concerts etc, but also the Fundraising group (which is run through the General Committee) organises various fund raising events throughout the year to help in raising money for the band. This is a volunteer group allied to the band composed of people who wish to further the progress of the band. Members are current and former player’s wives, partners, children, Band Patrons and friends - anyone willing to assist with their work is welcome to join the group. They undertake a range of practical activities such as:

  • Organise the selling of concert programmes at the bands own concert promotions in Cinderford and surrounding Districts

  • Provide a range of catering services for band personnel and the public at the band’s concert promotions

  • Organise and promote general fundraising activities at concerts and elsewhere

In recent times the Fundraising Committee have raised money towards the band funds that have enabled the purchase of some new percussion instruments, new music folders etc.
