REGIONAL'S

The "Areas" or "Regional's" as they are now known were initiated in 1945 following the reorganisation of the National Championships under the guidance of Edwin Vaughan Morris.

The current Regional Championships are held during March and April of each year in Scotland, North of England, North West, Yorkshire, Midlands, Wales, West of England and London & Southern Counties, where bands are divided into five sections, each playing the same set of test pieces.

The winners and runners up in each area are then invited to compete at the Finals. If the number of entries permits, additional bands may be invited.
